As a credit card holder, rewards come in a variety of forms, everything from points to miles. It can get confusing. Points and miles don’t easily convert to currency.

It’s difficult to know exactly how much you’re earning or spending with a complicated rewards system. For that reason, we like cards that offer cash back, either in the form of a statement credit, check, or cash deposit.

Many cash back credit cards offer a fixed earning percentage for all purchases. Other cards offer higher cash back depending on the category of your purchases. As with all types of credit cards, you need to find one that works with your spending. After looking at a diverse sample of cash back credit cards, we have chosen a card we think will be great for business.

The Blue Business Cash Card by American Express is a solid option for your business. It offers 2% cash back on all purchases as well as a 0% intro APR for the first 12 months. A downside with this card is that there is no rewards bonus.

Another card to consider is the Discover it Cash Back Card. It gives you an amazing intro offer they call “Cashback Match” where, they match all of the cash back you’ve earned at the end of your first year. An excellent perk indeed. Another feature they offer is 5% cash back in different categories each quarter, which would be mostly good. However, it can offer inconsistent earnings if you don’t spend much during the quarter on that particular category.

A cash back card that does well to incorporate an intro bonus and consistent earning and is the winner of our Best Cash Back Card is the Business Advantage Cash Rewards Mastercard Credit Card by Bank of America.

Here are the highlights of the Business Advantage Cash Rewards Card:

      • Intro Bonus: Bank of America gives a $300 statement credit when you make at least $3,000 in net purchases within 90 days of opening your account. The cash rewards never expire.

      • No Annual Fee: This card comes with no annual fee. It’s important for a cash back card to have this feature. If you have to pay an annual fee for a cash back card, you want to ensure it has exceptional perks, or else it could take you a while to earn back the money spent on the annual fee.

      • Earning: Earn 3% cash back in the category of your choice. Categories include gas, online shopping, dining, travel, drug stores, and home improvement/furnishing. Earn 2% on dining and 1% on all other purchases.

      • APR: 0% intro APR on purchases for the first 9 billing cycles. A variable APR of 13.74%–23.74% afterward.

Cash back keeps things simple—that way, you can worry less about the logistics of your credit card and more about earning and redeeming rewards. The Bank of America Business Advantage Cash Rewards Card keeps it simple while still offering notable perks and earnings.
