Find out how your business will benefit from finding the right employee.

Let’s face it; finding the right employee to hire for your business is a long and tedious process. Sometimes, you just wish that you could find the right employee with the snap of a finger. It’s not always easy, but it’s absolutely essential that you find the right employee. A great employee is like a building block; they become an asset that you can build your company with.
I’d like to share with you some of my favorite quotes on finding and hiring the right employee.

“When you’re in a start-up, the first ten people will determine whether the company succeeds or not. Each is 10 percent of the company. So why wouldn’t you take as much time as necessary to find all the A players? If three were not so great, why would you want a company where 30 percent of your people are not so great? A small company depends on great people much more than a big company does.”
Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs is a household name, especially when it comes to startups. He describes an employee as an essential part of any startup and emphasizes that great time and effort should be put into finding the right employee. While great employees can bring out the best in each other, a bad employee can drag the entire company down.

“If you pick the right people and give them the opportunity to spread their wings and put compensation as a carrier behind it, you almost don’t have to manage them.”

Jack Welch

If you find great employees for your business then make sure you give them a chance to grow with your business as well. Don’t constrain them; no one likes being boxed up. Constraining your employees will only negatively affect their productivity. Instead make sure that you take care of them. Pay good salaries, have a great bonus plan, give them the reins and then watch how efficient your employees can become.

“As a business owner or manager, you know that hiring the wrong person is the most costly mistake you can make.”

Brian Tracy

The entire hiring process is timely and we all know that time is money. Plus training employees comes at a cost too. So if you happen to hire the wrong type of employee then that means that all those costs have added up to nothing. Now, you not only have to let someone go, but you also have to start the whole process over.

“If you can hire people whose passion intersects with the job, they won’t require any supervision at all. They will manage themselves better than anyone could ever manage them. Their fire comes from within, not from without. Their motivation is internal, not external.”

Stephen Covey

Passion is a great force that determines people to work even harder and allows them to surpass their potential. So try finding people who are passionate about the role. The right employee will find a way to excel if the job is a passion of theirs.

“People are not your most important asset. The right people are.”

Jim Collins

Make sure that you are able to hire the right employee who is determined and hard working, as they will end up being your businesses greatest strength.

So the next time you are about to start the hiring process for your business, don’t get frustrated, but make sure you make the right hire. Remember that the right employee can go a long way into helping you shaping a bright future for your business.
