This is a guy I could work for.
Dick Cross has spent the last 25 years transforming underperforming mainstream businesses turning them into industry powerhouses. He considers himself a “hands-on CEO” who has converted eight marginal businesses into very successful enterprises.
“We can fix the American economy if we can teach people how to run a business,” he says. “What happens at the top matters.”
It’s hard not to get excited about his common-sense and straightforward approach to running a business as he talks about rolling up his sleeves and “wearing a shirt with his name on it” as he works the sales floor, drives the delivery truck and otherwise works in the trenches to learn the ins and outs of the organizations he’s run.
“You can tell a great leader by the almost maniacal devotion of his followers,” he says.
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
You can find his book, Just Run It! at Amazon.com. This book has definitely earned a prominent place on my bookshelf.
Is it just me, or is Business Fuel not as cool of a name as Entrepreneur Addiction? Why the change?
