Former co-founders of Zinch and SEO.com are hired to lead Lendio’s marketing and sales efforts
SALT LAKE CITY — Lendio bolstered its team this spring with two high-profile executive positions.
They include Brad Hagen, co-founder of Zinch, as the vice president of lender partners; and Nelson James, co-founder of SEO.com, as the vice president of marketing.
“We are incredibly excited to announce the addition of Nelson and Brad to our management team. Both have tremendous expertise and will help us reach our goals to make small business loans simple,” said Brock Blake, CEO and co-founder of Lendio.
Lendio, a company that helps other businesses obtain capital, just launched a new technology this year that matches business owners with the right business loans and lenders. In February, Lendio secured $6 million in funding in a round led by Highway 12 Ventures and GSA Partners, and promptly took action in recruiting talent to grow its business.
At Zinch, Hagen helped match students with the right colleges and scholarships. In four years, he helped Zinch grow to more than 65 employees worldwide and set up offices in China, California and Utah. He developed more than 900 partner colleges, attracted 3 million users to Zinch.com, and helped achieve a 350 percent year-over-year revenue growth.
“His experience at Zinch will be very applicable to his role here at Lendio,” Blake said, “however, instead of connecting with colleges and universities, he’ll be developing partnerships with banks, credit unions, and other lenders nationwide.”
To help boost Lendio’s presence online and bring increased exposure and awareness to its product, Lendio brought in the former president of SEO.com, an online marketing company. In six years, James helped SEO.com become one of the fastest growing companies in Utah: with more than 90 employees, over 200 clients, and more than 200 percent year-over-year revenue growth.
“Nelson adds a tremendous amount of knowledge and leadership in Internet marketing, search engine optimization, conversion optimization and brand building,” Blake said, “we believe that he is the perfect fit to help us spread the word of what is happening here at Lendio.”
