Of all the business travel cards out there, the Bank Of America Business Advantage Travel Rewards World Mastercard Credit Card is one of the most straightforward. There are no confusing categories, expiring points, or annual fees. Instead, it focuses on consistently accruing points on each and every purchase. It’s simple to use and understand, but just because it’s simple doesn’t mean that it can’t compete with other popular travel cards.

      Rewards

One appeal for this card is how you earn rewards points. Other cards may catch your eye with large earning potential in certain categories. A problem with those cards is that unless your business spending aligns perfectly with the credit cards’ rewards, you won’t typically be spending high amounts in those high-earning categories. The Bank of America Business Advantage Travel Rewards World Mastercard Credit Card offers 1.5 points for every $1 on all purchases everywhere, every time, with no spending cap. While 1.5 points per dollar doesn’t seem like a ton, your earning potential is high when you take into account you’re earning points every time you make a transaction.

In addition to earning 1.5 points on every dollar spent, you earn 3 points per dollar on travel purchases (i.e., car, hotel, airline) booked through the Bank of America Travel Center–powered by Expedia.

      Redeeming Points

Bank of America provides full flexibility in redeeming earned points. The points never expire and there’s no limit to how many you can earn. You can use points here and there to help the overall balance of an expense, or, if you prefer, you can save them and redeem them all at once to save big. Earned membership points can be used for cash back and gift cards. They can also be used for statement credit on flights, hotels, vacation packages, cruises, rental cars, or baggage fees.

When redeeming points, we suggest using them on travel. The estimated value of a point when redeemed for cash back or gift cards is about 0.6 cents. When redeemed on travel, the value of a point is 1 cent. Using points on travel gets you the most bang for your buck.

      Interest Rate and Signup Bonus

Depending on creditworthiness, the APR can be very good compared to other cards. The variable APR is 13.74%-23.74%. There’s a 0% introductory APR on purchases for the first 9 billing cycles.

The signup bonus for this card is an attractive incentive. When you make at least $3,000 in net purchases within 90 days of opening your account, you earn 30,000 bonus points. According to the estimate of 1 point being equal to 1 cent when spent on travel, that’s the equivalent of a $300 statement credit toward travel purchases.

      Drawback

It’s difficult to spot any inherent flaws with this card. It’s straightforward, easy to understand, and earns points on every purchase. The only flaws that can be found are if your business’s spending aligns better with the categories from another card. For example, if your business spends a significant amount on travel, there are other cards out there that reward more than 3 points per dollar spent. However, 3 points per dollar on travel and 1.5 points on every other purchase is hard to beat.

      Final Say: Consistent Earning

The Bank of America Business Advantage Travel Rewards World Mastercard Credit Card is a solid choice, especially if you want a card with no annual fee. The ability to earn points on every single purchase makes it hard to turn down. This card is perfect for any small business looking to earn rewards without the hassle of only earning in specific categories.
